31 Oct We Are Better Together. #WomanUP2019
WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER.
These words kept running through my mind during the WomanUP!® Conference in San Diego last week. I have been reflecting on the event for a week and continue to have a huge smile on my face and a lump in my throat… and tissues at the ready. Yes, it was that good. I am going to do my best to share my thoughts, feelings, and experience with you, dear reader. Here we go!
October 24th, I walked into the room with hundreds of soul-centered, servant-hearted leaders. Everything about the massive ballroom was (perfectly and imperfectly) flawless. The backdrop was exactly as I imagined it would be. The pops of hot pink, the stage setup, the tables, backstage – EVERYTHING… even the new carpet the hotel had installed matched the WomanUP!® logos and colors. Rogelio Lavender – for the win! *wink* It was simply gorgeous.
Watching each attendee enter the room with amazement and wonder was fascinating and such a gift. I loved seeing them run across the room to embrace and connect with one another. No pretense. No awkwardness. You could feel they knew they were in for something special here. We were all in this together and they were excited.
I continue to be in awe of the 70+ speakers (storytellers) who vulnerably shared their experiences of walking through the fire and rising out of the ashes. These women boldly and bravely brought their inspiring messages and brave spirits to encourage those who were still walking through the flames.
A sacred, beautiful sisterhood (we all clearly crave) was awakened and experienced by so many in the room – by the women AND the men.
It was breathtaking.
Our delicious diversity was celebrated.
Our exquisite vulnerability was embraced.
Intentional, divine connections were created.
Future collaborations were developed and empowered.
(Take a peek at my upcoming collaboration with Molly McKinley and sign up for updates!)
The palpable passion for living out loud, on purpose, and on their own terms was shining through each and every conversation and presentation.
Pure love and divine energy filled the room and we could all feel it.
As I looked around the room – I could see it. A part of each of us was thrilled and a part was a bit in shock. The stories were so compelling and real. I can’t tell you how many times I heard one or more of these sentiments… “Am I really at a real estate conference?” “I have never laughed so much at a real estate conference.” “I have never cried so much at a real estate conference.” “I have never felt so seen, heard, and loved at a real estate conference.” It was magical. It is my heart’s desire for EVERYONE I know to experience these feelings.
My soultank is still overflowing, my heart is still bursting and my body is still exhausted.
I’m still emotionally raw-in the most amazing way and feel so blessed to feel this way.
Words can’t possibly express how WomanUP!® 2019 is TRULY one of the most magnificent highlights of my career. Partnering with Sara Sutachan is an incredible honor and definitely one of my BEST YESES! Working with the California Association of REALTORS® leadership team has been inspiring. They get it and are ALL IN…
Together, we have ALL created a sacred space for those seeking to vulnerably open their hearts, ditch the senseless hustle, share soulful stories, find their focus, confidently connect, and ultimately inspire and ignite one another to build a successful life and business – in this season.
While connecting with women in the hallways, a few shared how ready they were for “their message”. They told me the women at their table all had “a moment” during one of the stories and they were worried they wouldn’t get theirs. It broke my heart and warmed it at the same time. THEY WANTED THEIRS and they were asking me how to get it. I replied with something like: “Lioness, don’t give up… your head may need time to catch up to your heart. Your soul session is right around the corner.” Each of them came back to me after “their moment” – so filled with JOY and excitement! Each time, I would step into a corner and sob. I have known for many years that empowering women is my purpose and I was living it out so loudly it was bursting out of me.
Friends, you have heard me say it before and I will say it again. It is my sincerest honor to be one of the leading voices in this community to help guide brilliant, bold, brave leaders to define and refine their own “best life” – the life each of us craves living out loud, on purpose, and on our own terms. There is also a conscious layer of this community to highlight and include many leaders and many voices – so there is someone for everyone. This is part of the magic of WomanUP!®. It isn’t ONE PERSON or ONE VOICE. Those leaders who came in seeking business stories heard business advice. Those in need of healing – found healing. Those in need of inspiration – found inspiration. Those in need of laughter – found loads of laughs!
Some of us needed all of it… some only a slice.
Everyone ready to receive – received.
This year’s conference changed so many lives.
