Please stop doing this… Please. – Affirmation 42

This week’s affirmation is about being your truest self.

Are you ready? Repeat after me:

I will never influence the world by being exactly like it.

Today, I choose to shine my light and share my sassy, signature self.

One of the biggest buzz words of this decade has been AUTHENTICITY.

Simply put – being your truest self.

However, the thought of letting the world see the REAL YOU can be paralyzing for so many of us. The media has managed to paint an unachievable picture of  “the perfect life”. Those social media highlight reels send us into a tizzy!

So, how do we embrace our own authentic self?

Brené Brown says it like this: “Authenticity is the daily practice of letting go of who we think we are supposed to be and embracing who we actually are.”

Choosing it means:

  • defining and protecting boundaries
  • embracing imperfection
  • being bravely vulnerable

Here are some questions to ask yourself this week:

  1. What am I afraid would happen if I shared my feelings or opinions right now?
  2. How will I feel if I don’t share what I’m thinking and feeling?
  3. Am I ok with accepting this feeling for myself and my life?

Enjoy this process, my friend.

I am here if you need me.

xxoo,

Debra
