Will you let it go? Let It Go. – Affirmation 25

It’s Monday… and time for a #Moxielicious message to lift you up and ignite your mindset as you step into another week of SIP, fighting for the causes on your heart, and caring for the ones you love.

You know how this goes… first things first – read the affirmation out loud.

I let go of any self-limiting thoughts and beliefs.

By challenging my fears, I become a stronger and wiser leader.

Now, repeat it. This time, put your hands in the air and shout it out! Go ahead, I’ll wait.

Maybe you carry guilt or shame about something you did.

Maybe you see obstacles and challenges as things that hold you back.

Maybe you can’t get past the stigma of your past and how people see you.

If you’re like me, you’re learning more every single day of the systemic inequality around us… you’re working on your unconscious bias, your racial prejudice, and curbing your centering more every moment.

This week, here are questions I encourage you to explore:

1: What limiting beliefs do I have?

Make a list of the things you truly desire to see changed but do not believe you are worthy of, smart enough to achieve, have enough money for, possess a voice others will listen to, etc.

2: How was this belief formed?

Did someone tell you it was more important to be liked than to stand up for what’s right, moral or honorable? Did someone tell you that you were stupid as a child? Did someone tell you that you didn’t “deserve” the success you desired? Did someone tell you that if you had too much money, you were a sinner or greedy or both?

Work to pinpoint the first moment you started to believe you were not worth it and write it down next to each answer from question 1.

3: Am I ready to release this belief?

I know it sounds crazy, but many of us WANT TO FEEL like we don’t deserve to have our dreams come true. We made the self-limiting thought such a fierce neuropathway, our minds don’t want to let it go. It’s more comfortable to stay stuck than to do the uncomfortable work.

It’s time to recognize the thought/belief, question why it was formed and come into a place of being willing to release that belief you will be able to start letting it go, moving forward, and living your purpose out loud.

You can do this in a time of relaxation and meditation.  With your eyes closed, your breathing deep and relaxed you can say to yourself

“I willingly release my need to believe _________________.”

OR

“I willingly release my belief that __________.”

4: What thought will I replace it?

In this moment, I want you to FLIP the negative, limiting belief. If you have been walking around thinking your marriage is dead or your business is failing or “you’re only one person at the table – what can you possibly do?” – how can you flip those?

For example:

My relationship is filled with passion, adventure, and ooooooodles of love! Today, I will write down 11 things I love about my beloved.

I am excited to build new streams of income and breathe new life into my business. Today, I will connect with someone I admire in business and ask them that question I’ve been dying to ask!

I will be bold and take a stand for what is moral and right. Today, when someone makes a racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, or any inappropriate comment in meetings – I will proudly stand in the gap for them and speak my truth.

5: How will I make this my new reality?

Rinse and repeat, my dearest. You know I believe in writing custom affirmations and this is the PERFECT way to start your own journal of personal mantras.

Grab your journal every morning and read your NEW, LIFE-GIVING THOUGHTS when you first wake up and read them again before you go to sleep.

Add them as a recurring meeting on your calendar – maybe during your lunch hour or when you usually stop for coffee or tea in the early afternoon!

Use a dry erase pen and write them on your bathroom mirror or your window pane.

Record them into your phone and play them during your daily commute or walks.

6: Who am I surrounding myself with during this change-filled season?

Lioness, you don’t have to do this all alone.  Call on your Lioness Pride.

-Ask your bestie to check in with you on Sunday evenings to set your intentions for the week.

-Email your coach that this is a new change you are seeking and need accountability.

-Connect with your mentor for additional tips and tools to help you succeed.

7: Am I giving myself grace along the way?

Remember, you are fully equipped to tame those self-limiting thoughts.

🙌🏻  Shake off the shame.

🙌🏾  Believe in yourself.

🙌🏼  Celebrate your successes.

🙌🏿  Learn from your setbacks.

🙌🏼  Be your own kind of brave.

Now, it is time to go forth and light your world on fire.

xxoo,

Debra
