Soak In THIS Season #FireMeUp11

Have you been missing out on TODAY because you are too focused on what will happen tomorrow, next week, or next year?

Are you “attaching your happiness” to an achievement that hasn’t been realized yet?

The last couple weeks have been filled with reminders to stop and be in THIS moment, soak in this SEASON, including:

* Spending ooooodles of time with a dear friends toddler.  There is nothing more grounding than sharing an afternoon with a toddler… especially when you are doing crafts or have Daniel Tiger sharing his Life Lessons with you.

* Pearls of #PKwisdom from Champions Centre’s fearless leader – Kevin Gerald:

  • Underestimating the here can lead to overestimating the there.
  • The feeling you are missing out on something shifts your purposeful trajectory.
  • STOP limiting yourself with a hyper-focused reliance on specific circumstances to create your happiness.

*Several moments in our #BreveTV episodes have also held great reminders to revel in our moments… and ban the Fear Of Missing Out.  The gals and I actually decided to start using the hashtag: #FOMO when we are feeling that tickle!  We also started a new one this week: #NOMOCO which is our homage to “No More Comparing” in 2014!

The bottom line in all of these message is this:
We must be mindful NOT to attach our joy to a different season than the one we are in now.

Those things we say to ourselves like, I will be happy when…
…all of the children are home for Christmas.

…I am married.
…I am a parent.
…I am an empty-nester.
…I am 11 pounds lighter.
…I have 11 more clients.
…I land the “ultimate” speaking gig.
…I finally taking a vacation to Greece.
…I am _____________.

gratitudeisthebestattitudeBe grateful in the moments with those who ARE able to make it home.
Enjoy being single and all of the freedom that comes along with that season.
Enjoy being “just the two of you” because someday it will take an HOUR to get out the door!
You get the idea, right?

Can I hear an AMEN?

We all KNOW this is true—>  Once we are there or have achieved THAT season, we always start dreaming of the next.  It is HUMAN NATURE.

Please don’t misunderstand me, there is nothing wrong with dreaming and planning the future – unless is robs you of the joy and experience of the here and NOW.  I am all for vision-casting and motivating ourselves with shiny sparkles and success-filled dreams.  Just don’t let “what will or could be” rule your thoughts.

Repeat after me:

I will fully embrace the season I am in…
I will learn and grow and flourish in this moment…
When I move on (and I know I will) I will take the best from this time…
and ROCK OUT the next season with passion, purpose, and a TON of my signature glitter.

Now, go make it happen!

I will fully embrace the season that I am in and not rely on others to provide the happiness I have within me. AMEN! :)
