Q1: What was it that gave you the ‘push’ to begin living your dream?

My mom (who comes from a line of entrepreneurs). I was freelance writing like crazy for a bunch of clients and she said – “You’re doing so many things why don’t you start your own company? Christine Incorporated…” = Christine Inc… Christine, Ink was born. 2003.

Q2: What does success look and feel like TO YOU?

Freedom. My time, my ideas implemented, my creations… I’m like a little kid playing in a sandbox – mine, mine, mine! (But not in a selfish way; in a free way.)

Q3: Share the THREE WORDS that describe you BEST!

CREATIVE. AMBITIOUS. STORYTELLER.

Q4: What was your biggest mistake? How did you learn from it?

Growing so fast I almost toppled over from pumping SO much money into the business; had to make some enormous decisions to right the ship. Fortunately, mission accomplished! (ex. too big of a team, office space I didn’t need, pricing was all out of whack.)

Q5: What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

I doubt anyone would be surprised to know anything about me. I’m an open book. So to speak.

Q6: If you could go back 10 years and share the knowledge you have now – what would you tell yourself?

Take a business finance course – NOW!

Q7: What inspires you to keep moving forward – even in moments of fear and doubt?

Exercise, meditation, journaling. 7 days a week. 1st thing of the day. My power trifecta of habits.

Q8: What is the first thing you do in the morning?

Putting myself in my clients’ shoes when writing their memoirs (this is an understatement; I’ve been known to channel certain scenes from their life – smell the smells, see what they saw; people tell me I’m slightly psychic).

Q9: What is your ‘superpower’?

Putting myself in my clients’ shoes when writing their memoirs (this is an understatement; I’ve been known to channel certain scenes from their life – smell the smells, see what they saw; people tell me I’m slightly psychic).

Q10: What are your TOP FIVE apps on your phone? Why?

Gmail, weather, facebook, Ring, Waze. Because they serve the functions I need the most frequently.

Q11: What songs are on your FIRE UP playlist?

I listen to the film scores Pandora station when ghostwriting people’s memoirs. It helps me envision my client like the main character in the movie of their life. People tell me the books I write “read like movies” – yep!

BONUS ROUND QUESTIONS:

What is your ONE WORD for this year?

Selfish – in a positive way. This is the first year where I’ve truly put myself first – my creative writing, my healthy habits, my state of mind… and now I’m being of better service to my company, my clients, my husband, my employees, etc. as a result of this decision.
